Leadership Continuity Matters

So far, we’ve covered Den Chiefs, outdoor support, troop visits, and orientations. Now let’s talk leadership transition.

🔹 Encourage Arrow of Light leaders to continue serving
Work with den leaders to consider moving into the troop as committee members or assistant Scoutmasters. Familiar faces make the transition smoother for Scouts.

🔹 Conduct a welcoming Scoutmaster conversation
Under the guidance of the Scoutmaster, introduce new Scouts to:
• The meaning of the Scout Oath and Law
• The Patrol Method
• Advancement in Scouts BSA
• Summer camp opportunities
• Personal gear expectations

A thoughtful welcome sets the tone for their journey ahead.
