Scouting America will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

Mission Statement

The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scout Oath

On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

We’re excited to have you on board, and this page will help guide you through the next steps. Whether you're a new Scout, parent, or leader, here's everything you need to get started:

1. Complete Youth Protection Training

All registered adults must complete the BSA Safeguarding Youth Training (SAFE) to ensure the safety of all Scouts. This training can be done at:
My.Scouting.org
(Use the same login credentials for other platforms like Scoutbook and Advancements.)

2. Track Your Scout’s Progress

Use Scoutbook to track your Scout's ranks and achievements:
Scoutbook.Scouting.org

Scoutbook also connects to Scoutbook Plus for rechartering and managing advancements through Advancements Scouting.

3. Get Your Scout Handbook and Gear

To help track advancements more easily, we recommend purchasing a handbook from the Meinders Oklahoma City Scout Shop or online at:
ScoutShop.org

4. Find Scout Requirements

Visit Scouting.org/programs to view official rank, merit badge, and award requirements for all Scouting programs.
This site provides:

• Up-to-date requirements for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouts

• Printable resources and program-specific guides

• Direct links to merit badge requirements

5. Keep Track of Events

Stay updated on upcoming events by visiting:
ScoutingEvent.com

For local events, look for “CV” or Canadian Valley District. You are also welcome to sign up for other district or council events—don’t limit yourself to just local activities!
