Last Frontier Council

Scouting is a world-wide youth movement that operates in almost every free nation of the world. The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910 and chartered by the United States Congress to work in cooperation with other agencies to provide a character education program to America's youth.
Over 300 local councils, like the Last Frontier Council, assist local community organizations in providing the program of the Boy Scouts of America. Each council helps chartered organizations in its geographic area to effectively use the Scouting program and to expand the use of the program to other community groups.
The Last Frontier Council is Scouting at its finest. The Last Frontier Council is more than 11,000 youth and more than 5,000 volunteer Scouters and adults enjoying and delivering the promise of Scouting in twenty-four counties across central, western, and southwestern Oklahoma!
The Last Frontier Council is a volunteer board of directors committed to seeing the council succeed in delivering the promise of Scouting to the youth in our communities.
The Last Frontier Council is professional and support staff, supporting the volunteers of Last Frontier Council, and striving daily to deliver the promise of Scouting to the existing members of Last Frontier Council, and to open new doors for the Scouting opportunity to be available and enjoyed by new youth, their families, and other supporters of the Boy Scouts of America and the Last Frontier Council.

For over one hundred years, Boy Scouts of America has provided programs with a singular mission of preparing young people for adulthood, and to be responsible citizens. The mission of the Last Frontier Council is simple: to get kids in Scouting and to keep them in Scouting.

Five key focus areas ensure outstanding opportunities for youth and adult members:

Leadership: Scouting’s purpose is to prepare young people for a lifetime of leadership. Our nation will never outgrow the need for thoughtful, responsible leadership. The values and lessons of Scouting will never go out of style.
Achievement: The Scouting experience includes learning valuable skills and achieving meaningful goals. The Boy Scouts of America promotes action—taking initiative to do things that better individuals, strengthen relationships, and support communities.
Character: Through its methods and program, Scouting helps shape and build in youth the many qualities that guide good decision making in life. Scouting’s lessons last a lifetime.
Service: The commitment by adults helps build a straight road for our youth to follow into the future. Scouting helps youth of America find—in themselves and in the world around them— more than they thought possible.
Outdoors: Learning to appreciate our world and our place in it remains essential to the Scouting experience. Youth today face many distractions. Scouting promotes active involvement in the enduring nature of the Scouting experience.

Looking for a Charity to Support?

The Last Frontier Council is one of the fastest growing of all the Scouting councils in the country. To attract this century's busy youth we need to continually monitor and update our service based on the needs of the next generation. Our technology, facilities and basic program offerings need to be renewed and refunded each year. Contact us at 405-840-1114 to speak with someone further on how you may invest in the future of our youth.
