2019 Wiley Post and Baden-Powell District Banquet

You are cordially invited to join your Scout friends and family in recognizing Scouts and Scouters from Wiley Post and Baden-Powell Districts who have done an outstanding job over the last year.  We are accepting nominations for the combined District Awards for 2018.through April 10, 2019 and the winners will be announced at the Wiley Post and Baden-Powell District Awards Celebration on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Council office. The Celebration is open to all Scouts, Leaders and Supporters of Scouting.  The cost is $5 per person with children 3 and under free.   The Celebration will be an ice cream social.  You are encouraged to make as many nominations as you wish to and you're invited to come celebrate  with us whether you make any nominations or not!

Nominations for any award may be made by anyone.  The selection does not have to come from the unit leader and/or unit committee.  If you know a deserving candidate please feel free to nominate them.  Award descriptions are available below.

AWARD DESCRIPTIONS
 

Cub Scout of the Year Honoring the Cub or Webelos Scout who most exemplifies the ideals of the Cub Scout Promise and Law of the Pack both in and out of the Pack. *Must give specific examples*
 
Tiger/Wolf/Bear/Webelos Leader of the Year Honoring the Cub Scouters (not Cubmaster) who have done an outstanding job helping with an individual den. Each category will be awarded.
 
Cubmaster of the Year Honoring the Cubmaster who has done an outstanding job with his/her Pack in the Baden-Powell District.
 
Cub Scouter of the Year Honoring the adult Cub Scouter who has done an outstanding job helping with an individual unit or Baden-Powell District.
 
Pack of the Year Honoring the outstanding Pack in the District 
 
Boy Scout of the Year Honoring the Scout who most exemplifies the ideals of the Boy Scout Oath and Law both in and out of the Troop. *Must give specific examples*
 
Scoutmaster of the Year Honoring the individual who has done an outstanding job with his/her Troop in the Baden-Powell District.
 
Boy Scouter of the Year Honoring the adult Boy Scouter who has done an outstanding job helping with an individual unit or Baden-Powell District.
 
Troop of the Year Honoring the outstanding troop in the District 
 
Venturer of the Year Honoring the Venturer who most exemplifies the ideals of the Scout Oath and Law both in and out of the Crew. *Must give specific examples*
 
Crew Advisor of the Year Honoring the individual who has done an outstanding job with his/her Crew in the Baden-Powell District.
 
Venturing Crew of the Year Honoring the outstanding crew in the District 
 
Chartered Organization of the Year Honoring the Chartered Organization who has done an outstanding job helping their individual unit.
 
Commissioner of the Year Honoring the individual who has done an outstanding job with his/her Troop or Pack.
 
Lighthouse Award The recipient may be any adult volunteer in the Baden-Powell District who has served as a "shining” example of the principles of Scouting, through their exemplary support of the BSA program.
 
Spark Plug Award The nomination should detail the outstanding accomplishments of Scouters whose actions provide the "SPARK" that helps make the Baden-Powell District successful.
 
District Award of Merit Available to registered adult Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level
